I know it's not Easter yet but all the shops are selling all sorts of eggs so I thought why not do a little recipe post. (Also today is my littlest sister's 10th birthday and she loves these!). Nest cakes are so easy and so simple to make anyone could have a go (and I mean anyone!!).
What you will need:
225g milk chocolate broken into pieces
2 tbsp golden syrup
50g butter
75g chosen cereal (I chose Rice Krispies)
24 mini eggs
Step 1: Line a fairy cake tin with paper cases
225g milk chocolate broken into pieces
2 tbsp golden syrup
50g butter
75g chosen cereal (I chose Rice Krispies)
24 mini eggs
Step 2: melt the chocolate butter and syrup in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, don't let any water get inside the bowl or else you'll have to start again.
Top Tip: when measuring out the syrup, cover the spoon in a little bit of olive oil - this will help it slide off the spoon more easily.
Step 3: mix the melted chocolate, butter and syrup with the Rice Krispies
Step 4: divide the mixture into the cases and pop them into the fridge for about an hour or until they have completely set.
Ta-daaaa there you have it! Told you it was easy!
