Some little changes

If you're a regular and read my posts the day they go up you'll realised that there is something different about this post. Today is not Saturday, it is in fact Sunday. A few weekends ago I got a job at the sport shop in the village that I live in and, because I work all day on a Saturday, I feel that I will begin to struggle to upload new content that day. Hence the move to Sundays.

There has been a lot of other events in my life recently that have made me want to change parts of who I am so that I feel happier and, fingers-crossed, more confident in who I am (those that know me personally will know that I have very low self-esteem and self-confidence which gets in the way if making decisions etc)

I have set myself some goals to help me
1. Think before I speak
2. Put myself in someone else's shoes before jumping in
3. Stop replying if I become upset or angry as that never ends well

Some of these things might seem so obvious to some people but for me I find it difficult and only realise when it's too late.

On a side note - I've just read my horoscope in Company magazine which says: "the Librian New Moon is your annual luna blessing to re-jig anything you're not happy with" which is essential what I'm doing with all these changes.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

By the time that you read this I will probably be in the middle of no where on the last of three days walking camping and eating my weight in tasteless food. This was because I was taking part in my qualifying expedition for my Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about and questioning why the hell am I doing it, it is an award scheme which is split into four parts (five at Gold level as this includes a residential trip): Skill, Physical, Volunteering and the Expedition. Many people take part in this as it looks good on a CV and universities, colleges and employers value award holders. If you wanna know more click HERE.
After doing my Bronze Award last year I willingly signed up to Silver, this included two sets of six month and one of three months for the skill, physical and volunteering sections and a three day expedition with two nights camping.

If I'm being honest I don't really know why I continued or why I even signed up in the first place. I guess everyone I knew was doing and it looked like it'd be a laugh (which it was most the time...when it wasn't raining).

Sorry that this post is very short and not very interesting...I will be back to normal next week!

Summer Sounds

So this week I thought I'd share with you some of the music I've been listening to over the summer.

"Meet The Vamps" ~ The Vamps
This is The Vamp's debut album which features all their recent singles ('Can We Dance', 'Wild Heart', 'Last Night' and 'Somebody To You'). I had listened to it a few times when it first came out to decide whether I actually wanted to buy it, in the end a friend let me borrow it instead. As my littlest sister is obsessed with the album it was played a lot when driving around in France. My favourite songs on the album are 'Last Night' and 'High Hopes'.

"All American" ~ Hoodie Allen
Before I downloaded this, I couldn't stop listening to 'Show Me What You're Made Of' as it was in so many vlogs (thank you Marcus Butler for that one!) after I'd bought that one and 'No Interuption' I downloaded "All American" as it was only £1.99 or something like that. My favourite tracks are 'No Faith In Brooklyn' and 'Small Town'.

"Problem" ~ Arianna Grande ft Iggy Azalea
This song is just too catchy...as well as being incredibly hard to sing along to due to Arianna Grande's high pitch. Never the less I love attempting to sing it much to the annoyance of the people around me :P

"TRXYE" ~ Troye Sivan
TRXYE is currently on pre-order so technically the song I've been listening to is 'Happy Little Pill' not the EP.

"X" ~ Ed Sheeran
This has to be the best album I have purchased since Ed's last album. I don't really know what else to say other than it's worth every penny! If I was to name my favourite songs I'd just be reciting the track list!

"5 Seconds of Summer"
My sister bought this and wasn't going to let me have it until she realised she couldn't take her iPod on the plane due to the smashed up screen and that it wouldn't connect to the car so she wouldn't get to listen to it while we we're in France. I prefer album's that have been written by the artist as it has more of a connection and makes the lyrics more relatable as they haven't been churned out of a music/money-making machine. Some of my favourite songs include 'Heartbreak Girl', 'Good Girls', 'Voodoo Doll', 'English Love Affair' and 'Amnesia'. (Also love 'Try Hard' which I've been listening to a lot but it's on the 'Don't Stop' EP)

What've you been listening to this summer?

Coco-nutty!

I'll admit it...I am obsessed with all things coconuts! The flavour, the smell, and actual coconut itself...obsessed!
So I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite coconut related things.

Alberto Balsam Coconut and Lychee shampoo
The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Varnish in Coconut

Coconut Oil
Frozen yogurt
Coconut Haystacks
Starbucks' new Mocha Coconut Frappuccino

The body butter and the shampoo smell like heaven! I love the fact that even once my hair is dry and I've used multiply products on it I can still smell coconuts throughout the day. The body butter's smell doesn't last that long which is disappointing but it's still my favourite one from The Body Shop (the strawberry and mango ones smell so good too!)
It's fair to say that Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail varnishes are my favourite and I rarely wear anything else! 'Coconut' is part of their most recent collection and was the first one I picked up. It's an off white which is great because I struggle to pull off white.
I haven't actually tried the coconut oil yet as mum only bought it the other day, but what I can say is that it too smells amazing...I'll report back once I've tried it out.
I know some people think frozen yogurt is too American but recently it has become a huge hit in the UK. There's a frozen yogurt bar in a shopping centre near me and they do their regular flavours and guest flavours each week, one week that I was in town they had a coconut flavoured frozen yogurt which of course I had to try! It tasted so good that I just wanted more...but sadly I haven't seen it being sold again :(
Moving on to coconut haystacks. These little balls or coconut deliciousness are one of my favourite tray-bakes, my grandma makes the best ones I've ever tasted so I might ask her for the recipe and share it with you guys!
Last but not least...Starbucks Mocha Coconut frappuccino...all I can say is Mocha Cookie Crumble frappuccino move aside, there's a newbie in town!

What you've been obsessed with recently?
