You've got a friend in me...

So apparently it's Sunday today...where did the week go??

To me, my friends are one of the most important things in my life. I honestly don't know where I'd be without them...so this week I thought I'd write a list about the types of friends you need in your life.

Those that can make you laugh. Any time any place and sometimes simply about nothing. They instantly put a smile on your face and it's impossible to be angry or upset in their presence.

The ones that you can completely geek out with or in my case...someone to fangirl with.
They just get you and appreciate you love for said thing and you don't feel like you're being annoying when talking about that thing because the other person is thinking the exact same wiphen they speak.

They do say friends are the family you pick! I honestly don't know where I'd be without these kind of friends. I wouldn't say I'm that close with my parents and I don't talk to my mum about personal things so I go to these friends of mine. I know they will always be there no matter what and I can literally say anything without being judged...In fact as soon as this post is published I will be on the phone.

I really hate the whole 'girls can't be "just friends" with guys'...course they can! Two of my best friends for years are guys and nothing has gone on between me and either of them. There is always so much less drama when you're friends with guys cause they aren't half as bitchy as most girls are and they always give good advice, partly because it's from a guys point of view!

And finally there are those friends that are always always gonna be there even if you haven't seen them for years. Everything will always slot back to how they used to be.

It's the little things...

"I'm in love with you...And all these little things..."

Sometimes it's the little things that make you happiest or make you smile the most. Recently I have had a smile pretty much glued to my face and all because of small thing others would think stupid or cringey but have made me feel happy and excited and loved.
This week I thought I'd share with you a little list of 10 little things in life that I know will might put a smile on your faces.

1. Unexpected surprises...I hate surprises if I know that I'm going to be surprised but when I have no idea and it's completely out of the blue I can't help but be happy that someone has surprised me.
2. Good morning/night messages...because they don't just mean 'good morning' or 'good night' they mean 'you're the first thing I thought about when I woke up' or 'you're the last thing I'm think about before I go to sleep' :)
3. When someone remember irrelevant details...why else would someone remember those things if they didn't care about you?
4. Thoughtful gifts...things with meaning or memories for example flowers that relate to certain emotions or printed photos from trips or events like the ones a friend of mine gave me the other day from a party at the start of the year.
5. Nicknames...9 times out of 10 cutesy nicknames will make me cringe sooo much but sometimes depending on what it is & who's saying it, they will definitely be able to make me smile!
6. "Snuggling"/cuddling...whether it's with a younger sibling, a pet or a boyfriend/girlfriend, the feeling of being loved is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
7. Long phone calls...there's just something about speaking to a friend on the phone rather than having the same conversation over text or Facebook.
8. Unintentionally matching...you know that feeling you get when things you wear match or looks really good but you had no intention of it happening? That would make you smile.
9. Winning games/pop quizzes...'cause everyone loves to feel powerful :p
10. Compliments...bit of an obvious one but if someone says something nice about you, it's gonna make you smile.

Obviously there are loads more but those were just some that I thought off the top of my head. Let me know in the comments what little things make you smile :)

What Now?? // Life Update

Last weekend was a whirlwind I'd rather not explain...

But anyway...This week saw yet another trip away to walk round universities and pretty much decide my future. I now know where I want to go and what I want to study but one thing I can't get my head around is why?

Writing my personal statement is proving really difficult and time consuming as I have no idea exactly why I want to study accounting or economics. I'm not entirely sure what interested me in these areas of study or how I'd make a good candidate.

I'm sorry things have been a bit hit and miss recently...they'll probably continue this way until I manage to get my head around things!

"Your own catastrophy"

I found this quote as I was scanning through Pinterest and originally thought it read "I am then designed of my own destiny" rather than catastrophy. And I think this was because we live in a world where we want everything to be perfect...when in reality it is quite the opposite.

Majority of the time I live in a dream world (not as in la-la-crazy might I add!!). I'm such a perfectionist and love it when things go the way I imagine. Which I guess is why this stuck out to me. Because I always want things to go the way I plan. But that's not real and things don't happen like that. Life has its ups but it also has a lot of downs...things don't go smoothly and people mess up. And I can't control that.

Recently, things for me where going amazing and I was so happy, but after one night I crashed. Something happened that broke me and I didn't know how to react. I let things lie broken and didn't try to repair it even though what I wanted more than anything was to erase the events from that night so that things could still be how they were.

I'm sorry that this has gone up so late, in all honesty I didn't know what to write as with all the things going on in my life I didn't really feel up for pretending to be happy or excited about something.

The next Chapter...what does the future hold? // Life Update

Oops I missed a week again...

Last weekend was a bit of a mess...there wasn't a minute where I stopped.
Friday night I was babysitting till late, Saturday I was covering a 9 hour shift at work to the be rushed off to what I though would be a fun evening round a campfire at a friend's party (turned out to be the complete opposite...). I left early as I had full days work on Sunday which was hectic as I'd had next to no sleep after a restless night therefore! When I got in the door at 6 I pretty much collapsed...hence the missing post.

Any way...what I wanted to talk about this week is the future...or more specifically, my future.

Monday night saw Dad and I driving down to Glasgow to spend two days walking around the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow. It wasn't until the journey that it dawned on me that in a years time we could be making this journey but this time to my new home for the next 4+ years!
I'd be lying if I didn't say that scared me.
Leaving the comfort blanket of my family home will definitely be a shock to me, leaving behind everything I know and starting a new adventure.
There is that part of me that can't wait to get away from here though...to somewhere new with thousands of new people...a fresh start to the next chapter.
