'Refresh not reply'

These days it is so easy to make indirect comments due to the wide spread of social networking out there but one of the biggest companies that makes this so easy is Twitter.
Twitter is used by thousands of people and is a space to freely say and do what you want which is great because it is a way of interacting with other people including celebrities...but when what your saying is hurting others? It's not so good.

I understand that indirected messages can be sarcastic comments or regarding strangers (like stating something about the bus driver or the woman sitting beside you on the way home...pretty sure that old woman was listening to JLS!) but when there is the possibility of that message hurting someone's feelings...it shouldn't be said. The saying 'think it but don't say it' comes to mind. It's not smart or mature to do so...especially when the victim of the message is able to read it.

I know first hand how this feels, it knocks your confidence and makes you feel so small when in matter of fact the author of the tweet is the one that should feel small because it just shows what they are like as a person...if they can't say something to your face why make these comments behind a screen?

Personally I believe that if someone feels the need to make a comment on a social media site yet doesn't have the decency to say it to your face, then you shouldn't bother with people like that. Surround yourself with level-headed like-minded people and trust me, you will feel much better. The positivity and happiness you experience will radiate off you and make others feel the same.

'Refresh not reply' was something I decided to do in 2014 and if this issue has affected you, why don't you try it to? Don't interact with the people who indirect you because it just boosts their ego and encourages them to keep doing it because they know it has a affect on you.

Personalised Gifts - Snapfish vs Vistaprint vs Photobox

Before anyone says it (not sure why cause this is a little blog with a little amount of readers compared to other blogs) this is NOT a sponsored post and all views are my own.

I love buying presents for birthdays, Christmas' or as little 'pick-me-ups' and I am a huge fan of personalised gifts; whether it's books, posters, cases, t-shirts...I love them!
*wink wink...ahaha*
Because of this love, I like the items I have designed to be of a high standard as I am also a bit of a perfectionist therefore when I don't like the way something has turned out on one website I search for another hoping it is up to my standards. Three I have used in the past are Snapfish, Vistaprint and Photobox.

Let's start with Snapfish. I have used this website the most and have created three photo- books and my sisters have created two posters.
The Snapfish website is easy to find your way around but when you can't find something you are looking for, you'll be sure to find it in the search bar. The instructions are easy to follow and understand as Snapfish warn you where there is a possibility that a photo won't print to the highest of quality (when this has happened to me I have used THIS website to edit my photos). There is now an even bigger variety of design possibilities for all products and, although the can be expensive, the price matches the quality you receive.
Vistaprint was a disappointment. I tried to design an iPhone case on their website and, even thought the picture was the right dimensions to fit, the quality was very poor and the product looked incredibly cheap.

Photobox was a pleasant surprise. I bought a phone case from here with a collage of photos I had created on my iPhone and after only a few seconds of tweaking it looked great! Their products are inexpensive (depending what item you choose) for such high quality products...I was so amazed! Another thing I love about Photobox is that packaging that the product come in, the phone case I ordered came in a protective plastic case wrapped in tissue paper in a little flat box, it was just a nice touch when it dropped through my letterbox!

I hope these little reviews have helped and maybe introduced you to the world of personalised photo gifts!

Meet Callie...

This week's post is a little different to previous posts as it is not about me or my experiences (listens to the cheers from readers :P) but about a new feature on this blog.
On the last Sunday of every month you will be treated to a post titled 'Callie's Corner: ...'. Callie is one of my best friends and one day she asked me whether or not she should create a new blog/tumblr about fashion, beauty and art as that is what she aspires to do when she leaves school. So I suggested why not be a monthly feature on my blog and if that's successful then start up her own? Ta-daaaa here we are...the creation of 'Callie's Corner'.

What better way of introducing 'Callie's Corner' then learning a little bit about Callie.

Who are you?
My name is Callie and I am 16 years old. I spend most of my time crying about Fall Out Boy, worshiping Hayley Williams, and sitting on tumblr. When I'm not doing these, I am doing school and studying History, Modern Studies, English, Maths and Art & Design.

How do you know me?
I met you in school through a mutual friend and have been bugging you ever since.

What will you bring to this blog?
I think mainly my monthly posts will be about beauty products and style reviews with the occasional rant or recipe thrown into the mix.

If people want to know more about you, where can they find you?
Here is my twitterpinterest and tumblr.

Thanks guys and I hope you enjoy the new feature!

Dear my 18 year old Self...

Here we are again...me talking about myself :P. Well actually this week's post (it's not Saturday...oops!) is actually me talking to my future self. In just under two years time I will be 18, so what I've decided to do is write a note to my 18 year old self with a few things I want achieve by then.

"Dear My 18 Year Old Self...

1. Continue blogging - I tend to give up on things very easily so I really hope that you've stuck to writing blog posts and if you do I'll be quite proud of you for doing so!
2. Get a job - I currently do the odd bit of babysitting whenever I'm needed, don't get me wrong I love doing it and it's easy money, but I just want you to have proper job working somewhere like a restaurant, shop or cafe where you have set hours that you are paid for.
3. Be healthier - 2013's New Year's resolution was to stop eating crisps and sweets and to stop drinking fizzy drinks so I really hope you've stuck to that and started to drink more water too!
4. Join a Gym/be more active - Being honest, I am pretty lazy and constantly complain about it so I wish that you've done something about it...joining a gym could be pushing it a little but I at least hope you've become more active in someway.
5. Learn how to save money - I am terrible at this! When I see something I like I tend so buy it or when I'm out with my friend's we tend to go out to restaurants for lunch. I hope that in two years time your bank account isn't empty!
6. Go to Disney again - This one might not/probably won't happen but I hope you go to Disney again even if it is just Disneyland Paris.
7. Have a prom date - This one is a little sad and cheesy but yeah, every girl can dream!
8. Be positive/happy - To be honest this is the one that I want to happen the most. Things have never gone smoothly in my life so I wish that you are happy in every aspect of your life and you are being positive rather than negative.
9. Improve your photography skills - I'm just about to buy a new camera and I really hope in two years time you have a pretty impressive photography folio.
10. Be the bottle of water not the fizzy drink - I'm gonna leave this one without an explanation to see if you actually remember what it means.

...I hope you at least try to stick to some of these 18 year old self...and if you don't shame on you!"

On another note, my friend Callie (more about her next week!) did my make up for me! What do you think?

Beauty & Fashion Wish List

I wasn't sure what this weeks post was going to be about but as all week I have been adding things to buy onto a note on my phone I thought I'd do a beauty and fashion wish list. So here goes!

The first product on the list is Topshop's Gloss Ink. I heard about this from FleurDeForce's post HERE. I thought I'd try Cruel (the same one as Fleur bought) because I really like the colour and I don't suit bright reds or pinks but I might suit this shade...there's only one way to find out!

Next is a foundation. The debate between which one has taken along time and I'm still not sure which to go for! I've narrowed it down to Match Perfection or Wake Me Up both by Rimmel. (If you have used either please tweet me/comment down below why you like it to help me decide!)

So many blogger/vloggers rave about Collection Lasting Perfection concealer so I've added it to my wish list!

I suffer from blackheads more that spots and have been struggling to find a product which will get rid of them. A couple of weeks ago I tweeted beauty blogger Anna from viviannadoesmakeup and she suggested the Borghese Fango Active Mud Mask. I'm not really a fan of face masks and never heard of this product but as Anna know's what she's talking about when it comes to beauty, I have added it to the list. (Looking it up now I might need to find a cheaper alternative as it can be quite expensive!!)

My final beauty products that are a must-buy (as soon as they come to Superdrug!) are Tanya Burr's Lips and Nails range!
For those of you who don't know who Tanya is she is a beauty blogger and vlogger who for years has been creating her first collection.
I don't tend to wear a lot of lip glosses other than a clear one and as Topshop's Gloss Ink will be one of my next purchases, I think I might give the lip glosses a miss for the time being. There are three nail polishes in particular that I want to buy which are Little Duck, Mini Marshmallows and Penguin Chic because they're shades that I could possibly get away with at school.

Tanya's products are currently available on feelunique

Be Bright Be Happy and New York Night will also be shades I will buy eventually!

I've recently discovered a website called Pastel Clouds who do the most beautiful fun jewellery I have ever seen! I have fallen in love with almost all of their products and desperately want to buy the products featured in the picture below!

Photo's taken from their website

Only a few items of clothing on my wish list at the moment with are a denim skater skirt, a bowler hat and a pair of hi-tops.
